2014 STAMPEDE DAYS BRINGS BULLS & BIKES TO RUSSELL IN SUPPORT OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS ONTARIO

(Tuesday, May 20 – Russell) The most dangerous sport in the world – bull riding — makes its return to Russell Fairgrounds along with Jordan Szoke, Canada’s greatest motocross racer, as GREATRODEO.COM presents the 2014 Stampede Days July 19th and 20th in support of Special Olympics Ontario.

In additional to a full schedule of truck pulls, rodeo clowns and other family entertainment, this wild weekend of mammals and machines combines two of the world’s most exciting spectator sports: bull riding and extreme motocross stunt riding. Witness the heart-pumping spectacle of competitive bull riding as top hands from San Paulo Brazil, the United States, Mexico and Canada strap onto 2,000 pounds of raging bull in a timed test of sheer survival. All riders will be competing for the coveted 15 qualifying spots in the International Professional Rodeo Finals slated for Oklahoma City next January and thousands of dollars in prize money.

“We are truly excited about our 2014 season,” says BJ Prince, General Director of The Rawhide Rodeo Company (www.rawhiderodeo.com). “And based on the advance enthusiasm and our star studded roster, spectators are in for a very competitive and exciting event.”

2014 Stampede Days also marks the homecoming of Canadian motorcycling legend Jordan Szoke (http://www.jordanszoke.com), winner of 19 national titles in multiple disciplines. Jordan leads his Freestyle Extreme Team in a thrilling display of trials riding skills and jaw-dropping motocross stunts that will defy both physics and gravity. For an added injection of adrenaline 2014 Stampede Days will also feature the high-flying aerial acrobatics of Quebec’s Ben Milot and his team of freestyle motocross jumpers (http://www.benmilot.com).

The Law Enforcement Torch Run also takes place during the weekend’s activities. Proceeds from both 2014 Stampede Days and the Law Enforcement Torch Run help support Special Olympics Ontario initiatives

RAWHIDE RODEO COMPANY (www.rawhiderodeo.com) has been producing rodeos and rodeo related events for over twenty years. It has grown from a small professional rodeo company to one of the largest and most accredited in North America, now producing over 120 rodeo performances a year in over 15 states and provinces.

THE ONTARIO LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN (WWW.TORCHRUNONTARIO.COM) is a community based, province-wide event that sees the “Flame of Hope” being carried right across Ontario by members of Law Enforcement Agencies. The objective of this and other events is to raise funds for and awareness of the Special Olympics movement in Ontario.
